Cloud, Security & IT Operations

Get clearer control of the technology that keeps the business running.

We help organisations assess risks in your IT systems and day-to-day operations, clarify ownership and plan improvements across cloud, infrastructure, backup, recovery and support—with the systems, responsibilities and checks agreed before work starts.

Common problems

When to ask for help

  • Incidents recur and ownership is unclear.
  • Backups exist, but recovery has not been demonstrated or tested.
  • Infrastructure or cloud costs are rising without a clear service view.
  • Unsupported systems create continuity or migration concern.
  • Access, monitoring or operational documentation is incomplete.
  • The organisation needs a technology health review before deciding what to repair, migrate, manage or refer for specialist assurance.

Deliverables

Planned operational outputs

Cloud Infrastructure & Hosting Review

Documenting environments, reviewing usage and demand, identifying cost drivers, and rightsizing hosting resources safely.

Backup & Recovery Verification

Documenting backup responsibilities, verifying retention schedules, and establishing tested recovery procedures.

Cyber Essentials Readiness

Reviewing practical IT security gaps and helping prepare agreed improvements. Certification and independent testing are separate services.

Application Support & Maintenance

Structured onboarding, clear ownership, defined response expectations, monitoring, and planned maintenance schedules.

Assurance

Exact scope matters.

We state what was reviewed, the method used, the evidence available and the limitations. Where independent certification, penetration testing, regulated assurance or specialist legal/compliance advice is required, we refer or work with an appropriately qualified provider.

Onboarding & support

Support onboarding and recovery checklist

Before taking over support, we agree which systems are in scope, who owns them, how access is authorised, what is already documented and how urgent issues will be handled. The resulting plan defines responsibilities, priorities and support arrangements.

Phase 1

Inventory & Ownership

Document every active server, cloud account, repository and database with a named decision owner.

Phase 2

Approved Access & Documentation

Controlled transfer of administrative credentials, network diagrams, and emergency access procedures.

Phase 3

Dependencies & Known Issues

Review incumbent supplier contracts, recurring errors, software versions, and known technical debt.

Phase 4

Backup & Recovery Verification

Verify that scheduled backups exist, test restoration in a sandbox, and confirm recovery point targets.

Phase 5

Agreed Escalation & Boundaries

Agree named contacts, monitoring thresholds, escalation paths, and what requires separate project sign-off.

Agreed support coverage and operational boundaries

What is covered

  • Agreed coverage hours: Normal UK business hours (Monday–Friday, 09:00–17:30).
  • Proactive monitoring: Server health, disk usage, SSL certificate validity, and backup completion.
  • Security maintenance: Applying operating system patches and critical software security updates.
  • Documented escalation: Direct reporting route with severity classification (P1 Urgent disruption to P3 Routine query).

What needs separate agreement

  • Out-of-hours coverage: 24/7 standby or weekend on-call arrangements.
  • New development: Building new features, major schema migrations, or redesigns.
  • Third-party vendor fees: Direct cloud hosting, SaaS, or domain licensing costs.
  • Upstream outages: External internet service provider or public cloud infrastructure outages.

Sample deliverable

What you receive: system inventory and recovery baseline specification

When you commission an infrastructure review or support handover, we deliver an authoritative operational register so your team has complete visibility over its technology estate.

Starting problem

Fragmented hosting across unknown accounts, uncertainty over whether backups can actually be restored, and key-person dependency.

Example outputs included in the pack
  • Asset & environment inventory: Complete register of active cloud instances, web servers, databases, domain registrations, and DNS records.
  • Backup restoration test report: Verifiable snapshot restore log confirming target recovery time (RTO) and data point (RPO).
  • Access control & credentials matrix: Audit of privileged access rights, MFA enforcement, and credential vault delegation.
  • Operational runbook: Step-by-step incident response procedures, failover instructions, and named contact rosters.
What the client supplies

Administrative access to cloud consoles and domain managers, existing supplier agreements, and nominated primary escalation contacts.

What needs separate agreement

Continuous 24/7 operations, full physical datacentre migration, or accredited third-party regulatory assurance (e.g. ISO 27001).
